Communism affected them positively.
Because citizens were allowed to share in
the wealth of the country equally. There
was no differences between the rich and
poor, and the means of production was
controlled and owned by the state.

So that the state becomes only the
employer. To get rid of the
differences between the rich and the
poor. To control the means of
production and distribution of the
resources. The political power to be
held by a strong central government
[communist party].
4. c) How important was the introduction of
communism to the Chinese rulers? Explain
your answer. (3)
To get rid of the foreign rule that was
making lots of money in China. To
overthrow the Manchu dynasty and
install the republic. To share the
resources of the country equally.

basic features of communism. (4)
A classless society; it means the end of class
oppression and exploitation.
Communal ownership of economic assets; it
means that there is a common possession of
the means of production and equal
distribution of resources.
6. e) Mention any two reasons why Karl Marx
introduced the ideology of communism. (2)
To allow all citizens to share in the
wealthy of the country equally.
To control and own the means of
production.
7. f) Write a paragraph and explain how
communism was applied in China. (5)
It focused on the construction of infrastructure; it
divided the country into six regions; the communist
became an official party that controlled all services
of the state; land was given to the poor; new marriage
laws formed; all banks were closed only the People’s
Bank was allowed to operate; railway network and
heavy industries were put under the state.
8. g) How did the USA feel about the
communism in China? Explain your answer.

Different USA People felt differently. Most of the
Americans were not happy because China would spread
communism across Asia and Europe. USA would lose its
influence around the world. The power to rule would be
centralized among the few party leaders only.
Some were happy because they believed that every nation
had the right to decide its own future.
