the time of the Red Scare. In the movie time and time again characters are bringing up accusations
about communism and it being the reason for everything going wrong in their life. Regardless of the
situation the easiest scapegoat was communism which during this time is what most American
people truly believed. Jack Ripper decided to send this attack plan to the pilots because he believed
that communism was the reason for his woman troubles and that if he would put a stop to it than

Throughout the years, humans have come up with many, many ideas. Some ideas, like expressing
language using symbols (writing) or a machine that could transmit sound energy using electricity

Communism is something most people see as bad thing. It is seen as an inhuman and a dangerous
idea. Though during post war time in Czechoslovakia people did not see it as bad, they saw it as a

defined it as "the riddle of history solved, and it knows itself to be this solution" (Marx & Engels,
1848). However, many economists would simply describe it as the elimination of private property.

The theory of communism was designed by German Philosopher Karl Marx. In 1848, he wrote a
book of his ideals known as "The Communist Manifesto", which later served as the inspiration for
the formation of the Communist Party. Communism is also known as "Marxism." Marx believed
that an ideal society must be classless as well as stateless. His main idea and aim +was simple– to
allow the poor a fighting chance and free the lower class from poverty. In order to extricate the
lower class, he was convinced that the government must control all means of production essentially

others. Firstly, in order for this to happen, the existing government would have to be overthrown.
Total destruction of the existing system was essential to move on to phase 2 of achieving this plan.

communism in China is how it first began to develop in those countries. The communists in China
obtained their power from the bottom up. Mao Zedong, the son of a former peasant farmer,
supported peasant revolts and saw the potential power that they had in their communities. Mao
realized that the working class in his country was too small to win the revolution alone. He knew
that he needed more people in support of the revolution, so he decided to include the peasants. Mao
became convinced "that the peasantry was capable of being, not merely the leading force, but

the answer to the question of what goods and services will be produced is the consumer and the

Capitalism and Communism have both been put forth as the best models for modern enlightened
societies. Each philosophy contains both desirable and undesirable elements within its framework.
Communism is based on a firm belief that fiscal and social equality is the path to an ideal utopian
society. Capitalism is based on the principle of individuality, and the exercise of individual rights,
freedom, and the liberty to pursue advancement in a competitive free market. Each has shown its
strengths and weaknesses. Over the course of time however only one has emerged successfully in
the early 21st century, though not without its own egregious faults.
Communism has its roots in the philosophy of Marx and Engels. In their "Communist Manifesto"
published in 1848, they laid out the principles of communist society. In Communist society, no
private ownership of property is allowed. Property should be shared among the people and likewise
the economy. Through economic and social equality, the hope was that individuals would work for
the common good of society, and leave the desire for advancement, power and authority behind.
