3. INTRODUCTION
The paper shows a total idea about the
agricultural industry of Bangladesh and also
gives some necessary information which is
needed for all of us to know
Agriculture sector plays a significant role
and its contribution is huge to make the
maximum development to the economy of
the country
A large number of the affiliations were
identified with agriculture are individuals
from the Agro Business Development
Association of Bangladesh
Due to pandemic situation, we are depended
on the secondary data that were available on
different websites, so that’s why it was hard
for us to get the exact data
5. OBJECTIVE
OF THE STUDY
To know the scope of agro
industries in Bangladesh
To understand the food
scarcity in Bangladesh
To examine factors those
can affect agro industries in
Bangladesh
6. OVERVIEW
INDUSTRY
The land is very fertile and ideal for
cultivation
In the late 1990’s, statistic show that
rice production was carried out up to
three times a year and it reached 19.9
million metric tons and wheat
production was 2 million matric tons
Currently the agriculture industry of
Bangladesh hasn’t developed as we
all anticipated
Ministry of agriculture in Bangladesh
does try its best to look into and
overcome all the obstacles
7. GROWTH
Population projections were used to calculate
per capita food requirements for each district
for years
It is the rate of population growth in every
year so that the daily food availability in
Bangladesh has not reached the standard
requirement or target
Basically the given food availability is not
equally distributed and it is clear that the
situation is getting worse for the poor
But the agro food manufacture industry is
rising
As the Bangladesh economy continues to grow,
the size of the middle class people will
continue to rise. The estimated size of the
middle class population is around 35 million
8. Projections of food grain supply and demand
are consistent in their conclusions that there is
a devious supply gap
Rising population and limited food sources
create supply demand gap
Lack of modern marketing structure
In terms of productivity that are beyond the
bounds of technology and another green
revolution
Need more technological support towards the
rural areas
Agriculture knowledge for farmers
CHALLENGES
9. Make policies, regulations and projects
that will ensure sustainable for food
production.
Increment rural employment through the
adoption of modern agricultural practices
Achieve low and stable consumer food
prices and improve the nutritional status
of the population
Develop food production that is suitable
and sustainable
Establish macroeconomics policies that
enable farmers to be responsive to
domestic and world market opportunities
Provide high quality infrastructure and
government services that will enable
farmers to produce and market products at
low cost
PROSPECTS
10. Introducing highly equipped machineries,
application of superior resource management
technologies. These highly quipped machineries will
help our crops to develop and increase the
productivity by twice and thrice of its current rate
Taking appropriate distributionary measures, which
means within the country all areas which demand
agricultural food (which includes most of
Bangladesh, as agro food is a daily necessity) should
be reached. Even in remote areas, to decrease the
food gap
An environmental degradation is one of the key
factors for decreasing productivity of agricultural
crops, spreading more awareness and letting most
people know about the hazards the pollution creates,
can lead to a lower pollution, and improved quality
of environment
Inheriting newly imported seeds and trying to
develop more seeds through experimentation to our
crop lands can in turn have a positive result. Getting
the productivity higher and decreasing food
shortages
RECOMMENDATION
11. Agricultural industry plays an important role in
Bangladesh’s economy. Agro-business in Bangladesh
covers a widening ranging from small businesses to large
agro industrial sector that uses raw materials derived from
the agricultural sector. The items generally traded abroad
are mostly seasonal products like rice, wheat, oil seeds,
fish products and many more. As Agro products are so
highly in demand, the food-system perspective should be
considered as a principle and morale value for
improvements in the performance of existing systems and
for the design and development of new systems. The
agricultural industries hence should be prepared, by the
second quarter of the next century, to contribute to the
evolution of alternative food systems. Hence few
alternatives will involve immense changes in food sources,
and supplies.
