2. CD
This command is use to either displays or changes the current directory.
Syntax : CD.. , CD/ , CD [/D] [drive:][path].
Using /D :we can change current drive to new specified directory.

3. CLS
This command is help to clear the ms-dos screen
Syntax: C:CLS(Enter)
DATE
This command is help to Displays the system date and prompts the user to
enter a new date.
Syntax: C:DATE
First we put cls and enter
Then clear the screen
4. DEL
This command is help to delete one or more files from any drive or directory.
Syntax: Del <file name>
ERASE
This command is help for delete one or more files as per our need but there is one
conduction is that file is delete only when the file is empty otherwise show an
error .
Syntax : C:Erase <file1> <file2>…..
5. ECHO
This command is help for display message on screen
Syntax: C:ECHO (“sentance”)
EXIT
This command is help for Quit or exit from the MS-DOS screen.
Syntax: C:Exit
6. HELP
If we need to take any help on any command or its attribute, then we can use the
“HELP” command.
Syntax: C:HELP
LABEL
If we set any name or anything on any drive name ,then we can use this label
command as per below:
Syntax: C:LABEL(:NEW NAME”)
7. MOVE
This command is help to move files from one folder to another.
Syntax: C:MOVE [SOURCE] [TARGET]
PATH
This command is help to Display or set a search path for executable files•
Syntax: C:>PATH
8. REN
This command is help to change the name from old name to new name:
Syntax: C:REN <old name> <New name>
RD
This command is help to delete the number of directory as we want , but the
deleted directory should be empty.
Syntax: RD(FILE NAME)
9. SORT
This command is help to are arrange the contents as ascending order.
Syntax: SORT (FILE NAME)
START
This command is help to start a program by using this command.
Syntax: START <PROGRAM WITH PATH>
10. TIME
This command is help to see and change the system’s Time as per our need.
Syntax: C:>TIME
TITLE
This command is help to set or change the title for MS-DOS window title
Syntax: C:TITLE my project
11. TREE
This command is help to display the graphical representation of directory and
files.
Syntax: C:>Tree (enter)
TYPE
This command is help to display the contents of a text file, created by COPY CON
Command.
Syntax : Type < Name of file>
12. VER
This command is help to find out the MS-Dos version.
syntax: VER(ENTER)
WHOAMI
This command is help to find out the “login user ID” under which we are working
with.
