Appearance
A. Is the store layout, design and visual merchandising techniques used consistent with the
exterior of the store and the location? What does it say about the type of store this is and
the market it is trying to attract?
Ans) The layout and the design of the store is worthy according to the items / products sold. The
store I visited in BIN HASHIM SUPER MARKET where people buy of products at promotional
price. It is a retail store. It has actually appealed the market and is going very well.
B. Is the store's ambiance consistent with the merchandise presented and then your
expectations as a customer?
Ans) The store’s environment is consistent with the stock present in the store. The environment
is not up to my expectation as a customer. The reason behind it is that there is no labels that at
which floor what products are available. So we have to find out which product is where. It’s very
much time consuming. Of course the staff is available but only few staff is there Plus the store
doesn’t have theoretical effects i.e. it doesn’t have a slow music that could make customers
relaxed while buying things.
C. Does the store need a face lift, update, remodel or renovation? What improvements
would you suggest?
Ans) I don’t think that the store needs a major face lift, update, remodel or renovation. In my
opinion,
Fixtures
A. Does the lighting highlight merchandise, structure space, capture a mood, or downplay
unwanted features?
Ans) The lighting and highlight merchandise structure is in proper order I don’t think so that it
was unwanted.
B. Are the fixtures consistent with the merchandise and the overall ambiance of the store?
Ans) The furniture and the equipment are a satisfactory and doesn’t need to be improved as it
has been opened a few months ago.

Promotion
A. Does it effectively sell merchandise?
Ans) There are discounts and promotions on many items. Those discounts and promotions has
increased the sales of the products but as compared.
B. Has the retailer used any theatrical effects to help sell merchandise?
Ans) NO! The retailer didn’t used any theatrical effects to help sell merchandise.
C. Does the store make creative use of wall space to sell product?
Ans) No I Don’t think that there was any think creative for wall space in the Bin Hashim Super
market, it was not creative neither bad its good for the customers
D. Does the sales staff use suggestive selling?
Ans) NO! The staff doesn’t suggest to buy the products.
E. Is the sales staff friendly and helpful?
Ans) The sales staff are friendly and helpful but there are only a handful of them.
F. Is the image of the staff consistent with the image of the store?
Ans) YES! It is correct, the image of staff is consistent with the image of the store
Layout
A. Does the store layout help draw people throughout the store? Why or why not?
Ans) The layout of the store helps people throughout the store as the products are placed in a
proper manner.
B. How does the layout facilitate purchases?
Ans) There are various products sold in the store and each product is categorized accordingly.
For example, frozen items are placed at one corner, meat items are placed at another other
corner, drinks at another place, etc. but there is no chart where people can see what product are at
what floor.

C. What type of layout is used? Would another type of layout be better?
Ans) There is Layout used standardized, in Bin Hashim super market and that is much better
for the customers because that is very easy to find the products and that can save the time of
customers

D. Are there any displays that increase interest in the products being offered? If not, would
you recommend any?
Ans) NO! There aren’t any displays available for people. All items are packed and sealed.
Summarize your suggestions on how this retailer can improve the shopping experience for
their customers, increase sales, and improve their image.
There was almost everything good in the Bin Hashim Super market one thing I found that
the retailers behavior was not much better with the customers, it was not bad but it would much
better than it another thing I would suggest them that there is need for the counter on each flour
because that is wasting the time of customers and it can make bad reputation of the market.

  • 2. P a g e 2 Appearance A. Is the store layout, design and visual merchandising techniques used consistent with the exterior of the store and the location? What does it say about the type of store this is and the market it is trying to attract? Ans) The layout and the design of the store is worthy according to the items / products sold. The store I visited in BIN HASHIM SUPER MARKET where people buy of products at promotional price. It is a retail store. It has actually appealed the market and is going very well. B. Is the store's ambiance consistent with the merchandise presented and then your expectations as a customer? Ans) The store’s environment is consistent with the stock present in the store. The environment is not up to my expectation as a customer. The reason behind it is that there is no labels that at which floor what products are available. So we have to find out which product is where. It’s very much time consuming. Of course the staff is available but only few staff is there Plus the store doesn’t have theoretical effects i.e. it doesn’t have a slow music that could make customers relaxed while buying things. C. Does the store need a face lift, update, remodel or renovation? What improvements would you suggest? Ans) I don’t think that the store needs a major face lift, update, remodel or renovation. In my opinion, Fixtures A. Does the lighting highlight merchandise, structure space, capture a mood, or downplay unwanted features? Ans) The lighting and highlight merchandise structure is in proper order I don’t think so that it was unwanted. B. Are the fixtures consistent with the merchandise and the overall ambiance of the store? Ans) The furniture and the equipment are a satisfactory and doesn’t need to be improved as it has been opened a few months ago.
  • 3. P a g e 3 Promotion A. Does it effectively sell merchandise? Ans) There are discounts and promotions on many items. Those discounts and promotions has increased the sales of the products but as compared. B. Has the retailer used any theatrical effects to help sell merchandise? Ans) NO! The retailer didn’t used any theatrical effects to help sell merchandise. C. Does the store make creative use of wall space to sell product? Ans) No I Don’t think that there was any think creative for wall space in the Bin Hashim Super market, it was not creative neither bad its good for the customers D. Does the sales staff use suggestive selling? Ans) NO! The staff doesn’t suggest to buy the products. E. Is the sales staff friendly and helpful? Ans) The sales staff are friendly and helpful but there are only a handful of them. F. Is the image of the staff consistent with the image of the store? Ans) YES! It is correct, the image of staff is consistent with the image of the store Layout A. Does the store layout help draw people throughout the store? Why or why not? Ans) The layout of the store helps people throughout the store as the products are placed in a proper manner. B. How does the layout facilitate purchases? Ans) There are various products sold in the store and each product is categorized accordingly. For example, frozen items are placed at one corner, meat items are placed at another other corner, drinks at another place, etc. but there is no chart where people can see what product are at what floor.

Ans) There is Layout used standardized, in Bin Hashim super market and that is much better for the customers because that is very easy to find the products and that can save the time of customers It is showed in the following picture D. Are there any displays that increase interest in the products being offered? If not, would you recommend any? Ans) NO! There aren’t any displays available for people. All items are packed and sealed. Summarize your suggestions on how this retailer can improve the shopping experience for their customers, increase sales, and improve their image. There was almost everything good in the Bin Hashim Super market one thing I found that the retailers behavior was not much better with the customers, it was not bad but it would much better than it another thing I would suggest them that there is need for the counter on each flour because that is wasting the time of customers and it can make bad reputation of the market.
