Search engine marketing, when used properly, can be your company’s 
key to success online. 

 Let’s face it, most businesses need an internet presence these days. 

 People are more likely to buy from you if they can see who you are and 
what you have to offer first by looking at your company’s website.  

Having a website just builds a level of trust that your business wouldn’t 
otherwise have.  

Yet so many companies are blind to this fact and refuse to come into 
the 21st century by creating their own website (or having someone 
create it for them). 

 If you don’t have a website, you’re missing out on a LOT of potential 
profits. 

Yet just having a website isn’t quite good enough. You also have to 
market that website. People need to be able to find it and see it for that 
trust factor to kick in. This is why search engine marketing is so 
important. It gets your business in front of the people who need to see 
it. 

Here are three ways you can use this marketing technique to help your 
company succeed with its online presence. 

 

1. Use local listings 

You want to get your business listed in as many local directories as 
possible.  

It doesn’t matter if your company is actually located in a particular 
community. 

You need to get your company listed in the online directories for that 
community anyway. 

 As a nationwide or global business, you can do business anywhere, and 
so in a sense, you ARE local to anyone who may want to use your 
products or services. 

 People have a high level of trust for local businesses, so if you appear 
in local listings, you’ll get a wave of new customers and skyrocketing 
profits like you never imagined. 

 

2. Hire a company to make the local listings for you 

With thousands of local listing directories available online, it can take 
days,  
weeks, months, or more to find them all and submit your listings to 
them, 

 especially if you are also busy running your business at the same time.  

Hiring a company to do this for you lets you get listed in local 
directories more quickly,  

while you can continue running your company.  

It saves time, brings you more customers, and is an outstanding 
investment in your company’s future. 

 

3. Make sure you use the right words in your listings 

 

Your customers are going to use certain words to look for businesses
