Design Engineer
Eschmann Textures International GmbH, Voestalpine Group
Marinha Grande, Portugal
Key role:
As a Design Engineer, working in the mould texturing industry which provides surface design engineering services for plastic
mould industries.
• Understanding customer requirements and developing the procedure for surface texturing for plastic moulds
• Instructing the production line about the work and collecting the information for the design stage.
• Creating detailed drawing files from complex surfaces of the moulds using Solidworks and CorelDRAW software
• Designing the masks (Vinyl) and is produced by laser plotters for texturing by an etching process
• Designing and engraving the information provided by the customers directly onto the moulds using laser engraver or by an
etching process
• Supporting the production team with masking the complex surfaces of moulds, which is more vulnerable for human errors
• Conducting regular meetings with the mould industries.
Graduate Researcher
Centre for Rapid and Sustainable Product Development
Marinha Grande, Portugal
Key role:
As a Graduate Researcher, working under water-assisted injection moulding (WAIM) projects.
• The primary role is to explore the processes related to the project objectives from resources and understand the concepts
to obtain an overview of the research work carried out.
• Computer Simulation using Moldex3D, based on the FEA method.
• To optimize the process parameters from simulation and implementation in experimental works
• 3D printing parts with ABS/PLA using Additive manufacturing processes
• Project planning and implementation within scheduled deadlines
• Designing the parts for prototype models for the projects
• Conducting experimental work by making prototype models and testing them
• Public presentation of the scientific work in scientific meeting, national and international conferences and symposia
• Conducting regular meetings and follow-ups with the industrial partners
• Producing technical reports and scientific outputs about the research work.
