A former project management consultant and design planner, Rotimi Aderohunmu filled diverse roles throughout his career in the private sector. Through his seminars, Rotimi Aderohunmu taught skills important for small businesses, such as project management. A project comprises various tasks with objectives and deliverables. Project management holds greater weight for small businesses than larger, well-established ones due to their limited budgets and or staff. Because small businesses have fewer employees and resources available to achieve their objectives, they also have more difficulties addressing problems that arise along the way. Before beginning a project, business owners must determine the needed resources and set feasible objectives so employees can harness their strengths most effectively. Conversely, if an objective is not accomplished on time, refined project management skills will help individuals and team members get back on track. Alongside creating a project plan, evaluating a project’s success after its completion will help small business owners repeat it in the future or avoid additional failures. They must compare the timeline set out initially with the actual time needed to complete objectives, and do the same with the plan for allocating resources, compared to the resources actually used.
