• Based on a true story of a man named Christopher Gardner who
invests in a device known as a ‘bone density scanner’, which he is
unable to sell.
• As he tries to figure out how to sell them, his wife leaves him, he
loses his house, his bank account and gains custody of his son.
• Gardner is forced to live out on the streets, with his son, as he tries
to sell the remaining scanners – all the while looking for a steady
job.
• He goes through training to become a stockbroker – without pay –
and after 6 months in the training programme finds out that he has
been offered the job.
