Description Gemini application is used by Distributor
Data Management to collect, maintain,
and distribute information to cable
systems. Gemini combines two
processes: capturing cable data and
providing data for the automatic
maintenance of templates in Metered
Template Tool (MTT) by capturing
Alternate Delivery System (ADS) data.
The Descriptor Control Database
(DCDB) is then updated from data fed
to it by Gemini and MTT. Gemini is also
used to update the Cable Maint
mainframe files so that other systems
may still access the legacy data. Gemini
is a web-based system developed using
3-Tier architecture using Web logic as
the middle tier
The Gemini application automates the
manual process in the cable system and
makes the cable data accessible from a
user-friendly environment. This
application also consolidated different
small applications that maintain cable
data into one application. Gemini
migrates data from Sybase to Legacy
on a daily basis. Other features of the
application are online data entry
