Data architect
Ronald is a data architect, who “provides a standard common
business vocabulary, expresses strategic data requirements,
outlines high level integrated designs to meet these requirements,
and aligns with enterprise strategy and related business
architecture.”
Ronald has been working for The Dutch Ministry of Infrastructure
and Waterstaat, Waternet (the water company of the Amsterdam),
the Royal Library of The Netherlands as data architect.
Ronald sees clouds too!

BIM and the need for semantics and cloud
Businesses and government agencies
who plan, design, construct, operate
and maintain buildings and physical
infrastructure (such as water, roads,
electricity, bridges) are turning to BIM
to make their processes much more
efficient.
They are increasingly using semantic
modelling and cloud to speed up their
innovations.

Semantic Modelling
• Semantic modelling enables integrating diverse information
resources and analysing them in a way that preserves their
meaning.
• Traditional data management techniques do not meet the
demands of complex, agile data integration, especially
when Web resources are involved.
• Semantic modelling based on Linked Data can link internal
and external data sources to get deep insights without the
need to recreate these external data sources.
