1998 TO PRESENT Paneltech Hoquiam, WA
GENERAL MANAGER
Led a team that took Paneltech’s treater operation from the construction phase into a highly profitable
operation with multiple successful products, becoming one of two key suppliers to the softwood plywood
industry domestically and internationally.
Established and managed sales relationships with key customers, leading to substantial profitable
business.
Managed technical product development activities, providing performance targets as well as assigning
and monitoring technical activity.
Managed relationships with key safety and environmental regulators.
Managed development projects with key customers to produce new business opportunities. One such
opportunity eventually became the PaperStone business.
1995 TO 1998 Weyerhaeuser Company Federal Way, WA
PROJECT MANAGER
Managed a joint development project between Weyerhaeuser and Procter & Gamble to develop a key baby
diaper component.
Participated in joint troubleshooting project related to scale-up of the technology at a Weyerhaeuser
facility near Columbus, MS.
Wrote and published a monthly synopsis of key changes in the nonwovens and disposables industry for
an internal audience, including the Market Pulp business group at Weyerhaeuser.
1992 TO 1995 Fiberweb Group Greenville, SC
MANAGER – WORLDWIDE LOGISTICS
Managed a group that coordinated purchasing activities domestically and provided guidance on key raw
materials for facilities in the US and Europe.
Led a team that commercialized a new product component for Procter & Gamble Germany.
Managed a joint toll manufacturing operation in Italy with an Italian Company to supply the product to
P&G in Germany.
As General Manager, led the move Absorbent Products, a business purchased from Weyerhaeuser, from
Federal Way, WA to Greenville, SC including a manufacturing line and key business personnel.
1980 TO 1992 Weyerhaeuser Company Federal Way, WA
GENERAL MANAGER, PROJECT MANAGER, PROJECT ENGINEER
Led a team that developed a new product technology for Weyerhaeuser including patent filings, process
development, market research, and marketing. This led to commercialization through a lengthy stage and
gate procedure to initial manufacturing and sales as well as the design for manufacturing scale-up.
Led the effort to sell the Absorbent Products business to Fiberweb. The effort included the identification
of candidate customers for the business, reviewing and presenting the sales package to the prospects.
Participated fully in negotiating an agreement to sell the technology to Fiberweb.
