Handiwrench Project Overview Project team Minesh Pandya, Vidoushi Bahadur-Somrah Charles Edwards, Michael Ogunmola This project consists of the development of a product to assist individuals with weakened wrists and hands to open their cars’ fuel filler caps. An initial production run will be scheduled and based on its success, a main production run will follow.

Handiwrench Included in the project scope is the following; Evaluate and develop the product design (Fit for purpose, Environmentally friendly etc...). Feasibility study. Manufacture initial prototype followed by main production run to test design and market. Ensuring appropriate distribution. Product to be completely manufactured in the UK. Rigid quality control. Product warranty, Contracts with retailers and distributors and terms and conditions. Produce a Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS). Out of scope Development of optional modular attachments. International considerations. The product will not be applicable for buses, trucks or trains. The product will not be applicable for individuals without weak hands/arthritis. Project scope

Each role as shown on the organisational structure has a set of clearly defined responsibilities, goals and authorities. Each role is allocated to a designated member of the project team. Due to the small scale of the project, a team manager is not required for the project management team. For flexibility purposes, each project team member has been assigned multiple roles, for example, the project assurance team members will also undertake the role of project support.

Handiwrench Project Risk A Risk Management procedure will be implemented which comprises of the following five steps: Communicate The first four steps namely ‘Identify, Access, Plan and Implement’ are sequential but are parallel to the ‘Communicate’ step. This is due to the findings of any of the other steps will need to be communicated prior to the completion of the overall process.
