OBJECTIVE: My main objective is to finish my Associate Degree at Brookhaven College; I have
only 1.5 semesters to go.
Quick Summary
I have over 11 years of military experience. Iam proficient in reading, comprehending and executing
Standard Operation Procedures placed by management. I have reviewed and completed reports and
records for superiors. I also have over 3 years with the Transportation Security Administration,
(Homeland Security), in dealing with the public during calm and stressful times.
I have over 5 years’ experience in FTTP and FTTN with FiOS and U-verse products. I have
conducted analysis and troubleshooting via telephone for customers' U-verse services, including
IPTV, DSL/Dial-up Internet access and VoIP services.
For the last 2 years I have been enrolled in the GIS program at Brookhaven under the guidance of
Scott Sires. Listed are the classes I have taken and what I have studied and ready to put to practical
application.
Concepts and Careers in Geographic Information Systems was an introduction to basic
Geographic Information Systems (GIS) operations, including file management and data transfer. I
studied about the ways in which GIS is used in different fields including business, government, and
scientific analysis.
Introduction to Geographic Information Systems (GIS) was an introduction to basic concepts
of vector GIS using several industry specific software programs including nomenclature of
cartography and geography.
Three Dimensional Analysis in Geographic Information Systems focused on the principles
and usage of three-dimensional (3-D) surfaces in Geographic Information Systems (GIS). I studied
how to prepare Triangulated Irregular Networks (TIN) and incorporate them into 3-D scenes for
enhanced data visualization.
Intermediate Geographic Information Systems (GIS) This course focused on the study of
spatial data structures and the display, manipulation, and analysis of geographic information. I had
studied the technical aspects involved in spatial data handling, analysis and modeling. Instructions
included theories and procedures associated with the implementation and management of GIS
projects. A variety of GIS software packages was used in the laboratory.
Special Topics in Cartography Topics address recently identified current events, skills, knowledge,
and/or attitudes and behaviors pertinent to the technology or occupation and relevant to the
professional development to my career.
Cartography and Geography in Geographical Information Systems (GIS) and Global
Positioning Systems was an introduction to the principles of cartography and geography.
Emphasis on global reference systems and the use of satellites for measurements and navigation.
Introduction to Raster-Based Geographic Information Systems (GIS) was an instruction in
GIS data sets including raster-based information such as images or photographs, acquisition of such
data, and processing and merging with vector data.
Geographic Information Systems (GIS) Applications was about the application of GIS
technology to real workplace applications from public and private sectors. I also completed lab and
field exercises of Global Positioning Systems (GPS).
Data Acquisition and Analysis in Geographic Information Systems (GIS) I studied the
management of geographic information, system life cycles, and costs and benefits. Topics included
demographic management and institutional issues such as data providers, data management,
combination of attribute and graphical data, information storage and access, Texas and national
standards for spatial data; and applications of GIS for demographic modeling and analysis.
GIS for Golf Course Management Emphasized on the maintenance and management of existing
golf courses. Includes instruction on GIS functionality as it relates to course support, planning,
ROI, mapping and interpretation. Introduced modeling concepts, automation of routines, data
development and golf course content specific spatial analysis. Incorporated field sensors and related
data collection techniques.
GIS for Municipalities Focused on the use of GIS technology within and for municipal entities.
Introduced the specific GIS applications used within municipal environments and in support of
municipal services. Discussed the evolution of GIS within these environments and explained
current trends. Included concepts of regional actions and resources as they affect local
municipalities.
Web-Served Geographic Information Systems (GIS) this delivered geographic data via the
Internet. Included composition of the map features distributed and introduction on the use of
markup languages to customize web-based Geographic Information Systems

develop applications.
 Conduct Research to locate and obtain existing databases.
 Gather, analyze, and integrate spatial data from staff and determine how best the
information can be displayed using GIS.
 Compile geographic data from a variety of sources including censuses, field observation,
satellite imagery, aerial photographs, and existing maps.
 Analyze spatial data for geographic statistics to incorporate into documents and reports.
 Design and update database, applying additional knowledge of spatial feature
representations.
