Nondestructive Testing of Metals/Quality Assurance:
• 30 years experience in Nondestructive Testing, Quality Assurance, and Metal
Fabrication, including nuclear and non-nuclear applications on power plants, submarine
and surface ship structure, piping systems, pressure vessels and castings. Initial Level II
certification November 1992.
• 4 years experience in NDT education. Established and maintained evolving curriculum.
Conducted initial training for VT, PT, MT and RT level II inspectors, followed by
extensive laboratory work and certification testing.
• Wrote and qualified detailed local inspection procedures, written and operational
examinations and training proficiency programs. Conducted performance monitoring,
tracked, and maintained inspector qualifications.
• Experience in field Nondestructive Testing. Working as a QA/NDT/Fabrication Lead,
coordinated and executed international repairs on US and NATO vessels. Work locations
include the San Diego, Hawaii, Guam, Australia and Japan.
• 3 years experience working as a CWI and radiography contractor for NIC, working in
both the power and aerospace field.
2. Radiation Safety:
• 5 months as Branch manager/ Radiation Safety Officer with Professional Service
Industries until office closed.
• 5 years experience as a Radiation Safety Officer with over 4000 hours of hands-on
experience. Experience utilizing Iridium-192, digital imaging and film based x-ray
radiography.
• Established and maintained the most demanding and successful radiation safety programs
(X-Ray, Gamma and Survey Meter Calibration) in the Navy. Supervised over gamma
and x-ray radiography evolutions with zero safety violations at three different facilities.
• Wrote and developed corporate level operating and emergency procedures. Performed
detailed radiation surveys and conducted inventories, internal audits, inspections, and
performance evaluations. Implemented training and qualification programs and
monitored and evaluated personnel exposure records. Supervised inspection and
maintenance of associated equipment and prepared and submitted formal license renewal
and amendments for review and approval.
