2. TUMBLR
As I used Tumblr to blog last year, I found it easy
to use.
The versatility of the site allows the user to upload
media of almost any form, which proved very
useful to document our progress in different ways.
I enjoyed using Tumblr as I found it very clear to
use not only for me but also to an audience.
It reminds me of the minimalist simplicity found in
Apple products, which are very user friendly.
3. FUJI X10
To film, we used my own personal FujiFilm X10
camera.
We used this to film in full HD (1080p) and a 30fps
rate.
The video quality captured by the camera was fantastic
for such a small piece of kit, rivalling those much more
expensive.
As it was my own camera, my group found it easy to
use as I myself had previous experience in using it.
We also used it to take pictures.
The only real issue with the camera was battery life,
which proved to be limited, causing us to abandon
filming once.
4. ADOBE PREMIERE PRO
CS5.5
This year we used an updated version of Adobe CS4.
Unlike last year, we experienced no bugs, glitches or
slowness that we found with the previous version.
As editor, I found this software equally as easy to use
as CS4, as the workspace is set out clearly and shows
the sound as well as video clips along the same
sequence.
We did lose some footage from the sequence of the
first film we made. However, this was due to an issue
within the college network rather than the software
itself.
5. YOUTUBE
This was the site where we uploaded the final
project.
This site provides an easy and free way of putting
videos on to the internet. However, unlike last
year, it did not take long to upload any videos.
Again, I feel last year that the problems with the
college’s internal network hampered the
effectiveness of some sites, as it took a long time
to upload videos.
6. SOUNDCLOUD
This was the site we used to find a copyright free
music track to go behind our piece.
I was able to type in the style of track I was looking
for – instrumental - and then find a track that the
artist had kindly allowed us to download.
We previously tried a piano driven track, however
it did not fit the piece.
Our track now is not without its issues, but where
we were not allowed to use a copyrighted track,
therefore our options were limited as we also did
not have the time or resources to create our own.
