emphasis over the last 26 years on power
stations and desalination plants.

largely in the Middle East (including Oman,

Kirikkale, Turkey – The project (the Plant)
is for İç Anadolu Doğal Gaz Elektrik Üretim
Ve Ticaret A.Ş., dedicated to supplying
power to the Turkish Grid, a green field,
self-contained new power plant. Chief
Resident Engineer in charge of site
supervision and progress monitoring via a
team of engineers and inspectors, liaising
directly with the owner’s site based
company representative and reporting to
Mott MacDonald’s project manager. Duties
involve ensuring works are constructed in
accordance with the project specification,
monitoring quality and progress, running
meetings, preparing reports and verifying
that works are satisfactorily complete for
payment purposes.
Sur Independent Power Plant, Sur,
Oman – The project (the Plant) is for
Phoenix Power Company (PPC) dedicated
to supplying power to the Oman Grid, a
complete green field, self-contained new
power plant located in Sur Industrial City
Estate. This assignment is for the
implementation phase of the power plant,
with MM acting in the role of “Owner’s
Engineer”. Site construction manager in

MacDonald’s project manager. Duties
involve ensuring works are constructed in
accordance with the project specification,
monitoring quality and progress, running
meetings, preparing reports and verifying
that works are satisfactorily complete for
payment purposes. For the final 6 months
on the project, I was involved in intense
review and preparation of rebuttals to
counter a series of claims submitted by the
Contractor under Expert Determination.
Qatalum Power Plant Project, Messaid,
Qatar – The Qatalum plant consists of the
Qatalum power plant and the Qatalum
aluminium smelter. The plant is a gas fired
power plant dedicated to supply power to
the aluminium smelter. The Qatalum plant
is located in Mesaieed industrial city,
approximately 50km south of Doha in
Qatar. Site construction manager in charge
of site supervision and progress monitoring
via a team of engineers and inspectors,
liaising directly with the owner’s site based
company representative and reporting to
Mott MacDonald’s project manager. Duties
involve ensuring works are constructed in
accordance with the project specification,
monitoring quality and progress, running

supervision and progress monitoring via a
team of engineers and inspectors – liaising
with the owner’s site based project
manager and reporting directly to Mott
MacDonald’s project manager. Duties
involved ensuring works were constructed
in accordance with the project
specification, monitoring quality and
progress, running meetings, preparing
reports and verifying payment certificates.
Involved for several years after leaving
project in review of claims and preparation
of witness statement for rebuttal of claims.
