1. Keeping records
Some teachers find their job tasks (taking the record,
writing report cards) is annoying, but with a record we
can know what activities were successful and the
activities that did not.
One of the characteristics of good teachers is that they
constantly change and develop their teaching practice
as a result of reflecting on their teaching experiences.
2. Being reliable
Professional teachers are reliable about things like time and task control. It is very
difficult to criticize the students for being late to the classes, if we present
ourselves late to teach.
It is not satisfactory to insist on the prompt delivery of the task if it takes weeks to
correct and return it.
Being reliable in this way is simply a matter of following the old language of
'practicing what we preach'.
