Writing is a form of communication that allows
students to put their feeling and ideas on paper, to organize
their knowledge and beliefs into convicing arguments and
to convey meaning trough well-constructed text.
3. How to construct a paragraph
• Write a topic sentence.
Topic sentence is an introductory line that addressed what the main idea or thesis of paragraph is
going to be. It should contain the most important and relevant point you wish to make regarding your topic.
• Fill in the supporting details
Supporting details/ supporting sentence is the part of detailed, well-structured notes you wrote
earlier will come in handy. Make sure that your paragraph is coherent, which means that is easy to read and
understand, that each sentence connect with the next and that everything flows nicely as a whole.
• Write a concluding sentence
concluding sentence of your paragraph should tie everything together. A good concluding sentence
will reinforce the idea outlined in your topic sentence, but now it has all weight of the evidence.
