These are the elements of narratives

1. Second Quarter Permanent Group Guidelines
• Each group should have a Leader, Health Officer, Secretary,
Acoustic Expert and Speaker.
• Leader- Leads and supervises the group
• Secretary- Leads the making of any document/presentation for
the activity given.
• Health Officer- Reminds the group with the safety protocols.
• Acoustic Expert- Ensures that the group does not disturb other
groups
• Speaker- Instructs the group of what to do and presents group
output. (Depends on how the group agrees on how the
presentation will be made.

2. Objectives: At the end of the lesson, all students will be
able to:
• read/view and review given
Afro-Asian stories; and
• make group review about the
story read.

3. Essential Question:
Why do different countries
have common values?

4. Motive Question:
What common Values are
reflected in the stories of Japan,
China, Indonesia, Africa and
UAE? What do you think is the
reason?

5. Afro-Asian Stories Festival
•Be grouped into 5.
•Read/View and analyze the story that will be assigned
to your group.
•Assign each member a question to answer or work on.
•Present your output after the given working time.( You
are given 10 minutes to work on this activity and 2
minutes presentation of output respectively.
•Assign a rapporteur or present as a group as creative
as you can.

•Group 1- Japan: The Story of the Aged Mother
•Group 2: China: The Soul of the Great Bell
•Group 3: Islamic Story: The Story of the
Fisherman
•Group 4: Indonesia: Bawang Merah and
Bawang Puti
•Group 5: Mufaro’s Beautiful Daughters

7. Questions:
• What is the story about? Provide a short
summary of the story in 5-6 sentences.
• What is the conflict in the story and how did
the character/characters resolve/address it?
• What Values are reflected in the story?
• What lessons did you get from the story?

8. Reminder:
While a group is presenting their story, other
groups will take down notes to be able to
understand the story you are listening to as you
will be doing an individual activity worksheet
after all presentations.

an impact/impression to you. Explain why.
2.Write the problem or conflict in the story and how was it

not, explain.
3.What Values are exemplified in each of the story? Was there a
similarity between and among the countries of origin of this
story?

11. During Presentation
In a piece of pad paper, do the following:
1.Write down one character from the story you heard that made
an impact/impression to you. Explain why.
2.Write the problem or conflict in the story and how was it
