River emits foul smell, Pasil folk complain
Sun.Star Cebu, Sunday, July 13, 2014
“Residents of Barangay Pasil are asking for the intervention of the Cebu City Government
on the dumping of human and septic wastes on a portion of the Guadalupe River that
traverses in their area.”
Rampant dumping of
septic wastes in our
water bodies pose health
and environmental
hazards.
The Metro Cebu Dev’t &
Coordinating Board (MCDCB)
urges local government units to
pass an ordinance for mandatory
desludging of septic wastes.
"Maybe we should request the
legislative bodies of the LGUs to
pass an ordinance on it," said Cebu
Gov. Hilario Davide III, chairman of
MCDCB.
