The term breast cancer refer to a malignant tumor that has
developed from cell in the breast .

the breast .malignant means cell that grow harmfully and
uncontrolled.
4. CAUSES:-
Exact cause is unknown
Age – over 60 year women
Personal & family history of breast cancer
Gene change
First menstrual periods before age 12
Menopause after 55 age
Radiation therapy to chest
Oral contraceptives
Obese after menopause
5. PATHOPHYSIOLOGY
Due to etiological factors
Permanent damage of DNA
Mutation of genes
Activation of growth inducer oncogenes
Inhibition of tumor suppressor genes
Disrupted proliferation of cell
Progression of tumor

10. NURSING MANAGEMENT:-
Monitor adverse effect of radiation therapy , such as fatigue, sore
throat.
Monitor adverse effect of chemotherapy such as weight gain or loss
nausea ,bone marrow suppression.
Provide psychological support.
Teach all the women the recommended cancer screening procedure.
Describe surgical procedure to alleviate fear.
Suggest the good nutritional diet.
11. PREVENTION OF BREAST CANCER
Get screened for breast caner regularly
Control weight and do exercise
Avoid induced abortions
Avoid unnecessary medical radiation exposure
