This document is the synopsis for a seminar presentation titled "From Magnetic Drive to Genomic Drive" presented by Ravi Vaniya and Sanat Dhobi. The presentation will cover the history of memory storage devices, challenges of big data, using DNA for data storage, how data is stored in DNA, current DNA data storage research by Microsoft, pros and cons of DNA data storage, applications and future scope. It will introduce DNA, explain why it can be used for data storage due to its compactness, and reference additional sources for information.

5. Introduction
 Deoxyribonucleic acid (DNA) is a molecule that
carries the genetic (hereditary) instructions used
in the growth, development and functioning of all
known living organism and many viruses.
 Most DNA molecules consist of
two biopolymer strands coiled around each other
to form a double helix.
 The information in DNA is stored as a code made
up of four nitrogen bases: adenine (A), guanine
(G), cytosine (C), and thymine (T).
 Nucleotide = Nitrogen base + Sugar + Phosphate.
