This document discusses common errors in precast concrete construction projects and how 3D parametric modeling could help address them. It analyzed 8 case studies that encountered significant issues requiring rework. The main types of errors identified were: design errors, inconsistencies between assembly and piece drawings, piece detailing errors, lack of coordination between disciplines, and inadequate change management. Implementing a top-down 3D parametric modeling approach with automatic propagation of changes could help eliminate many of these sources of error by maintaining integrity from assemblies to individual pieces.
