TextBook: Error Control Code (Lin and Costello) If the syndrome is zero, what do we need to do
with the information bits?
Solution
If the syndrome is zero then there is no error in the received code. That is the received code is
equal to transmitted code. In general syndrome is used to detect and correct the error in the
received code.
