As Part of Linux Enterprise Computing team we monitor Linux servers and troubleshoot the issues
encountered remotely across the globe for a leading financial organization.
 Handle escalations from Level 1 team.
 Install, Configure and customize Linux OS for servers as requested by the Business Units.
 Responsible in handling various Business Unit requests for Linux servers such as software
installations, configurations, server builds and decommissions.
 Provide secure authentication by enabling password less authentication using
RSA keys. Setting sticky bit, SUID, SGID to increases the security.
 Symbolic and hard link creation.
 Package Management with YUM and RPM (Installing, Updating and Rollback)
 Responsible in handling user administration for Linux servers such as creating, deleting,
modifying, locking, unlocking and managing user accounts and groups.
 Improving system security by limiting users unauthorized root
access. Monitor system and its issues.
 Provide disk space utilization assistance.
 Servers monitoring and their performance tuning.
 Handle and manage Job Scheduling on Linux
servers. Troubleshoot server boot issues
 Deploy Patches on servers to make sure OS is up to date.
 Co-ordinate with vendors and have them x hardware related issues such as disk failures,
physical server connectivity issues.

2.  Check performance of Linux servers using: top, uptime, free, df, iostat, vmstat, fsck,
Netstat, etc Perform restore activity using Symantec Netbackup utility.
 I also have experience in working across multiple teams like Change Management on
highly available production servers and QA servers also of /enterprise remote management
team(co-coordinating with Level3 for creating a change request and executing it)
 I also part documentation team for getting the KW’s/Procedures corrections, if there was
anything missing in it and creating a survey-matics for dumping new Kw’s ,
 My roles and responsibility also included in getting the new resources trained in the
process flow environment of unix morgan Stanley level2 and and also managing there day
to day report and updating them any new change in the process.
