The concept of Selective dissemination of information
was concept firstly introduced by Hans Peter Luhn of
IBM in the 1950s.
The mechanized SDI system based on Luhn’s design
was first implemented in 1959 at the Advanced
Systems Development Division of IBM Corporation at
Yorktown Heights, New York.
