 The Six laning of Nidagatta – Mysore Section project on NH-
275 can provide valuable internship opportunities. By
participating in the project as interns, we gained hands-on
experience in various fields, including civil engineering,
construction management, and environmental engineering.
Some of the potential outcomes from intern on this project
include:
 Exposure to real-world engineering and construction
projects:
Interning on a large-scale infrastructure project like this can
provide with an opportunity to gain exposure to the practical
aspects of engineering and construction, beyond what they
may have learned in the classroom.
 Developing technical skills:
It develops a range of technical skills related to the design,
construction, and maintenance of highways and bridges. We
also learned how to use various engineering software and
tools.
 Building professional networks:
Interns can interact with experienced engineers, construction
professionals, and other stakeholders, which can help them
build professional networks and relationships.
 Improved job prospects:
By participating in an internship on a project of this scale, we
improve the job prospects by gaining relevant experience and
developing a range of skills that employers look for.
 Understanding of project management:
It helped us to gain insight into how a large-scale infrastructure
project is managed, including the processes and procedures
involved in the project lifecycle.
 Contribution to the project outcomes:
Interns can make a significant contribution to the project
outcomes by assisting in various aspects of the project such as
site inspections, data collection, and analysis. This can provide
a sense of accomplishment and satisfaction to the interns, as
they can see the impact of their work on the project.
 Explore career alternatives prior to graduation.
 Integrate theory and practice.
 Assess interests and abilities in their field of study.
 Learn to appreciate work and its function in the economy.
 Develop work habits and attitudes necessary for job success.
 Develop communication, interpersonal and other critical
skills in the job interview process
 Build a record of work experience.
 Acquire employment contacts leading directly to a full-time
job following graduation from college.
 Internship is a class healed at site to provide an enhanced
understanding of the outside working environment before the
student graduate. The main aim of this practice (internship) is
to teach students communication with different workers or
employees, to improve practical skill what they learned in
classrooms, upgrading the theoretical knowledge in addition to
the class, improve their leadership skill, team playing skill and
etc.
 The internship is a bridge between the theoretical knowledge
and the practical or the reality work at the field of construction
or civil engineering work. The responsibilities of the hosting
company are to teach students and shape them as real site
workers. My hosting company was an organization and they
helped me take the internship session in their company in
acquiring different knowledge in different positions.
 This program played an important role to break the
conventional thought that field works can be only
implemented by students who hold a degree or people who
have an experience in construction. We were able to acquire a
high level of confidence to deal with problems that arise in our
construction work.
 More over working with skilled and experienced engineers
and foreman gave me great quality and made confidential.
They help me to understand what is going to be when I work
in the consultant office. The contractors also avail practical
knowledge for us to improve our practical knowledge status in
the field. And, the contractors make us more familiar with site
works starting from communication skill, handling of different
site works equipment utilization manpower control to
finishing of the work within the time scheduled by the client.
 Overall, an internship on the Six laning of Nidagatta – Mysore
Section project on NH-275 has provides valuable experience
and skills that can help us in the future careers in engineering
or construction and competitive advantage in the job market.
