Light exhibits both wave-like and particle-like properties that are difficult to explain solely as either waves or particles. While light interference patterns demonstrate wave behavior, photographs of space show light acting as discrete particles that arrive at detectors individually rather than uniformly illuminating the entire photo. This quantum behavior challenges classical descriptions of light as purely waves or particles.
