•   Diversion is when people      escape from everyday
    live by consuming media like TV, film, newspaper, and
    magazine. In this case, the audience escape into the
    world of rock and other music like that. They can
    immerse themselves with the tours and the artists in
    the articles.


•   Personal relationships is when people use the
    media to fit into social groups or to create a group of
    people that enjoy the same medias. In this case people
    are all into the same music type so can commune at
    gigs and festivals.


•   Personal identity is when you find out about
    yourself by reading things in magazines, and the way
    some people are reflected may reflect yourself. In the
    contents page you can relate to the people by the why
    they are dress and how they are acting in the photo.

•   Surveillance is when the audience uses the media
    to find out what is going on around us. In this case in
    magazines where we can find out about the bands we
    like and what goes on in their personal lives. In this
    extract you can see surveillance on this here, where its
    talks about the tour that they are doing and how they
    feel about it.
