• Developed and implement the company 401K plan, the 125 Cafeteria Plan and administer
separate union benefits and union 401k plan. ADP & ACT testing review and strategy; sign 5500
forms. Devise strategy whereby HCE’s may defer up to $59,000.00 annually with no
discrimination testing.
• Improve efficiencies company-wide by aligning in-house talent with departmental goals and
overall company strategy, objectives and vision by partnering with CEO and CFO regarding the
future state of the business and steps needed to achieve specific goals.
• Partner with the CFO to write 165-page employee manual detailing EEOC non-discrimination
statement, acceptable rules of conduct.
• Consult with Department Heads to determine the short and long term staffing needs for the
departments and for the organization as a whole. Background screening program; Internship
program. Recruit, interview, on-board new talent in accordance with departmental needs.
• Inform and prepare staff for recapitalization and new management. Set and enforce new
direction for company as mandated by our new owners. Roll out new procedures for 2 locations.
• Partner with business leads to address employee concerns at our 2 locations (Union and non-
union). Stay informed on changes in employment law; strategize with in-house counsel on
pressing issues.
• Manage the weekly payroll process; w-2 distribution, yearly increases, bonuses, terminations,
direct deposits. Handle unemployment claims with ADP’s California Office. Review labor rates,
produce weekly labor distribution reports. Certify payroll reports for ICIP, OCIP, and Prevailing
Wage projects which are audited. Use ADP – WorkForceNow product for payroll and to remit
payroll taxes.
• Consult with in-house attorney on labor law, general law, and immigration law. Monitor
illegal employees; Consult with Ramesh Shrestha, PC to prepare labor certification
documentation for H1b petitions with associated interviews. Process workmen’s
compensation claims: C-2’s, C-11’s, C-240. Appear in court as necessary, liaison with Lovell
Safety Management’s EIP program. Oversee safety program for partially self-insured
