Luckily, I was able to perform my entire speech around five to six minutes which was a goal I had struggled to obtain in practice. To hasten my
speech, I had to talk a lot faster and remove a lot of specific information from my speech. Despite it being a success, some people thought I talked to
fast during my presentation which could have been true. All in all, my speech topic was well fitted to the role and was inspired by my personal
experiences.
Even though my topic was interesting, it isn't something everyone would know about off hand. What inspired me to deliver a speech on green
iguanas was my mother and my heritage. My mom is Puerto Rican and that makes me half Puerto Rican. I am very proud of my heritage, so every

Initially, when I first registered to enroll for this online Speech class, I did not know what to expect. I thought that we would only meet in order to
present the required speeches and then I thought that we would have a virtual classroom to give speeches were we were all online at once. Now I
know that both of my guesses were wrong. For our speeches, we either record them online and invite classmates as audience members to watch, or
have a live audience of family and/or friends that record you giving your speech in your living room or somewhere similar. When I found out that
these were the ways I would be giving my speeches, I was so surprised. When I am speaking in front of a live audience in a classroom, I get so

Challenges Of Giving A Speech
Life is about challenges and there are challenges we face by having to give a speech as well as the stress on what to give a speech over to keep your

This paper will discuss mine self–evaluation and do into detail about my first speech. My first speech takes place in front of my class and I have to
tell a story of an experience that has happened to me. Telling a speech was a new experience for me and I embrace the challenge. A speech can

pathos and logos of my speech for my personal assessment. I think I did a good job presenting my ethos through my speech story. I convince my

My first point was very short. It was so short that it probably should have been included in my second point. I do feel, however, if I had been

We all want our listeners to stay interested in what we have to say; in formal public speaking, and everyday conversation. It seems far easier to keep
the audience interested in everyday conversation because the setting is generally more informal. However, in a formal setting, connectives are vital to
keeping the audience on the edge of their seats. I now realize that simply pausing between main points are not good connectives,in most cases. Pausing,
in my opinion, gives the audience an opportunity to mentally drift away from the speech, depending on the length of the pause. Pausing may be
acceptable if the speaker is using signposts, but when signposts are used, the audience is made aware of what's coming after the pause, which makes
them more likely to keep listening. In my opinion, connectives are extremely important in certain situations where the audience is only attending out of
