21. The first ever Paraplanners Powwow took place
in Britain’s rolling countryside, under open skies,
in teepees on 19 September 2013.

22. OK. So, we’re not talking massive numbers here.

29. But the degree to which participants felt invested in
Powwows is something that’s really surprised us.

weather. The thing that really did it
for me was the 'unconference' style
where it wasn't just sit and listen to
the guy up-front. We really did talk
and learn from each other. We also
liked the fact it was independent of
either IFP or PFS. It was an event for
Paraplanners by Paraplanners.”

was not like speaking at
a conference or writing
a blog. Yes, we had to
muster up the courage
to stand in front of
twenty-odd people
and rouse them into a
lively debate, to tap
into what they wanted
to talk about. We had
to be prepared to
improvise. More than
that though, Powwow
Up North was our
baby.”

46. Powwows have proved to be a powerful way for
paraplanners to create their own informal gatherings.

47. In fact, we would describe what’s
happened as more of a ‘movement’.

48. We didn’t create the movement.

49. We didn’t even anticipate it.

50. But we held our second national
Paraplanners Powwow on 18 September 2014.

that it’s possible to create an inspiring national
gathering for paraplanners.

64. But we believe that the mini-Powwows
represent a really exciting movement for
supporters and paraplanners alike.
