CONCLUSION
3. Communication barriers in the classroom
make it difficult for students to get the
most out of their education. Some teachers
fail to create engaging lessons and
struggle to connect to their students on a
one-to-one basis. Students with
unaddressed language or speech
difficulties often have trouble
communicating with their teachers and
classmates. Personality differences and
peer pressure add to the mix, making
some classroom interactions feel awkward
or forced. Teachers have an increasingly
difficult job in trying to communicate
effectively to classroom that are growing
in size and may contain students who
come from varied backgrounds.

4. COMMUNICATION
BARRIERS IN CLASSROOM
Some of the major barriers to communication are:-
Speech and Language Barrier-
Students with unaddressed learning or speech
difficulties often struggle to communicate in classroom
settings. Some might have trouble comprehending
lessons and organizing their thoughts, and others might
rely on hand gestures rather than words. Students often
shut down, isolate themselves out of fear or
embarrassment. This communication barrier can often
be overcome by developing individual education plans
for struggling students and consulting with special
education teachers, parents and counselors.
5. CONTD.
EFFECTIVE LISTENING-
Effective listening is one of the most important factors in
classroom communication. Take the time to listen to what
the other person is saying. When someone is speaking,
you should not be thinking of your next response.
Negative emotions may occur when certain words or
body language is used. A teacher must also take care to
keep emotional reactions to a minimum and focus on
what the speaker is saying. Outside noise such as
telephones or construction noise can sometimes make
listening difficult. This outside noise should be minimized
in the classroom.
6. CONTD.
PERCEPTION BARRIER-
Perception may be a barrier to effective
communication in the classroom. Different
people may receive and hear the same message
but interpret it differently. Paying attention to
detail is also important. Important aspects can
be missed by not covering a subject in depth. A
teacher should also learn to focus on both
positive and negative aspects of a conversation.
By having a distorted focus, a teacher may only
focus on the negative aspects of a conversation.
7. ORAL BARRIER-
Communication barriers in the classroom may
exist if oral communication is not clear.
Communication only occurs when the listener
hears and understands your message in the way
you meant for it to be received. Some problems in
oral communications include using words with
ambiguous meanings. The teacher must make sure
the students clearly understand the meanings of
words. Another problem in oral communications
is using generalizations and stereotypes.
Classroom communication should be specific to
the topic and without bias. A teacher must also
take caution not to make a premature conclusion
before she has all the facts about a topic or
situation. Finally, a teacher must overcome any
lack of self-confidence and deliver the message
with assertiveness and clarity.

8. OVERCOMING COMMUNICATION BARRIERS IN
CLASSROOM
OVERCOMING LANGUAGE BARRIERS -
Overcoming language barriers in the classroom requires educators to speech (or) have a basic level of
understanding of the common dialect of students and locality. Not only does occasionally communicating
in the vernacular allow the teachers to teach better and develop good speaking skills, but it also increases
the student-teacher bond and relationship.
OVERCOMING MUNDANE TECHNIQUES-
One of the ways to overcome this barrier to effective communication is the implementation of smart
technology and Edeth in classroom. Smart interactive whiteboard tech supplies teachers with robust and
innovative tools to teach in real-time with PPTs, Audio & Video presentations, virtual reality, 3D & 2D
animations, etc.
ABANDONING Q&A SESSION AT END OF THE CLASS PERIOD-
Teachers who abandon the Q&A session at the end of the class period leave students in a state of
confusion. Students tend to learn when education is interactive and fun. Interactive question and answer
activity reduces the barrier of communication in classroom teaching thereby engaging students in the
classroom and encouraging active learning. Moreover, conducting such synergistic activities reduces the
gap between students and teachers.
9. CONTD.
OVERCOMING CRITISIM -
Criticism creates a barrier that demoralizes students and teachers (sometimes) to communicate in the
classroom. Welcoming students to boldly ask questions and encouraging teachers to appreciate the
confidence creates a good learning and teaching atmosphere in the classroom thereby reducing the
communication differences.
OVERCOMING PERCEPTION-
Students should question their perceptions and think about how they are formed. They should check in
with others around regularly and be aware of assumptions that they are making. Seek additional
information and observations. They need to ask their teachers if their perceptions are accurate.
FOCUS ON THE ISSUE, NOT THE PERSON-
Students should try not to take everything personally, and similarly, express their own needs and opinions
in terms of the job at hand. Solve problems rather than attempt to control others. For example, teachers
rather than ignoring a student who routinely answers questions in class with inappropriate tangents,
speak with the student outside of class about how this might disrupt the class and distract other students.
