Teacher Education Credentialing Programs
On the leading edge of teacher training, Pacific Oaks College follows a progressive
teacher education credentialing program model that prepares students to think critically
about diversity, culture, and power in the classroom. Students explore learning as a
social, cultural, and cognitive process and are trained to apply Pacific Oaks' pioneering
approach to teaching—which considers diverse backgrounds, learning styles, and
abilities—to uncover each student's distinct potential. Coursework and fieldwork are
integrated throughout the program, allowing students to make connections between
theory and practice.
Pacific Oaks currently offers several pathways for completing coursework required for a
California State Preliminary Multiple Subject Teaching Credential. Students may
complete the course requirements for credentialing as a stand-alone program or within the
context of a joint degree/credential program.
