The M.A. in MFT African-American Family Studies program at Pacific Oaks College prepares students to provide culturally relevant therapy to African-American families. The 62-credit program utilizes the UJIMA model and an historical lens to help students build on client strengths. Students complete clinical hours in agencies serving African-American families and may be supervised by African-American professionals. The program readies graduates for California MFT licensing and optional LPCC licensure.
