Figure 1 illustrates a relatively normal lifeline and events often reported - “p r edictable crises of adult life ” The low points represent possible transitions and the typical time lag between key events and subsequent distress. In normal transitions recovery follows soon after reported low points. If personal transitions are understood and supported, these events can be turning points and opportunities If not they can lead to serious errors of judgment, depression, breakdown, broken relationships and career
