19. The
Digital
Events
Survey
Report
67% of the respondents are PMP certified, while 33% are not. 57% are
members of the PMI UK Chapter, and 25% are PMI global members
(this shows some prospects in gaining new membership from the
global PMI through quality and insightful digital events).
The data also shows that 87% of our respondents would prefer to
attend virtual events, also buttressing this preference with over 60% of
the respondents willing to travel only between 30 – 60 minutes for a
PMI UK event. But, for a PMI UK Conference, over 69% of the
respondents don’t mind travelling for up to 2 hours to attend the
conference. Concerning the timing of our digital events, only 25% of
the respondents prefer lunchtime, and 33% prefer the evenings.
Lastly, the topical interests of the respondents are captured in this
report. These responses would guide the directorate in events planning
for 2023.

42. Rochelle A. Hood
Rochelle has been a PMI UK Chapter member for almost 13 years. She’s currently based in Florida, USA
and has been an active volunteer with the Digital Events Team. Below is a summary of our engagement
with her after winning the Amazon raffle draw voucher.
How have the PMI UK chapter’s DE events been a strategic part of your professional development?
My experience with PMI UK Digital Events has been as a participant and a volunteer. When I joined the
PMI UK chapter in 2010, I aimed to understand how global projects and teams are managed. Nearly 13
years later, the Digital Event offerings have enabled me to expand my European professional network
and provided me with direct experience collaborating with global teams. Volunteering with the DE
team during Covid allowed me to evolve my technical presentation proficiency through tools such as
Mentimeter and webinar platforms. Additionally, I refined my moderation skills while serving as a
webinar host for several sessions and as Chair for a panel during the inaugural Women in PM
Conference. The relationships I built with speakers and DE team members gave me access to industry
experts. Lastly, most of the PDUs I’ve completed in my current PMP renewal cycle have been earned
by attending or consuming content produced by the DE team. The DE team delivers high-quality
sessions, on topics relevant to my professional development, with a strong focus on participant
experience.
What did you spend your winning on?
Thank you to the PMI UK DE team for seeking member feedback resulting in my good fortune to
winning the survey prize. I made every pence count, buying four items with a bit of a UK meets Florida
theme. I purchased Gaiters (used when bird watching and hiking), a Dog Toy for my fur baby Booker,
Rain Hat (for visits to the UK), and a European Woodland Animals foldable duffle with European
Woodland Animals (perfect for packing the stash of Cadbury Chocolates, Cheese & Onion Crisps and
Blackcurrant Jam I bring back from each of my trips to the UK).
