Hello, this is your quiz-friend Partha Gupta. Over the years I have conducted
so many quiz contests and got your illustrious presence and appreciation. In
this grim situation of Lockdown due to Covid- 19, I have started an online quiz
series in my Facebook page titled ‘Theme Quiz Journey’ which has been going
on since 10th May, ‘20 the birthday of ‘Father of Indian Quiz’- Neil O’Brien.
So, I am going to place a Special Theme Quiz (10 qsn.) in my FB link:

2. In this set you will get 10 questions. Firstly, try to answer them. All the answers have a
centralized connection. When you connect the answers, will automatically get the theme or
centralized answer. For each correct answer of the regular question you will get 5 points each. If
you crack the theme, will be rewarded with the same bonus points i.e; 50 points. Make sure about
the 100% correctness of the theme answer otherwise, your score sheet will be nullified! Read
through the questions first and try to answer them and finally check out the explanations of the
theme.

This lawn tennis legend was nicknamed "Superbrat" by the English tabloids.
He was ranked No. 1 in the world for four straight years (1981-1984). He
won seven Grand Slam Singles titles (3 Wimbledon, 4 US Open), nine Grand
Slam men's doubles titles and one Grand Slam mixed doubles title. He led
his country to win five world titles in Davis Cup (1978, 1979, 1981, 1982 and
1992). After retirement, he appeared in few movies as well - Mr. Deeds
(2002), Wimbledon (2004), You Don't Mess with the Zohan (2008).

In 1920 American cotton buyer Earle Dickson came up with the idea of
making a product to help his wife Josephine Knight Dickson. He then told
about his idea to his boss of the company where he was working. The
company installed machines for the mass-production of that product. The
product started to sale with a special brand name. At first the product was
not commercially successful during the first year. By the end of 1920, only
three thousand dollars in sales had been made. When the United States
entered World War II, the company joined the war effort and sent millions
of that product overseas. Following the commercial success of that product
and his design, Dickson was promoted to vice-president of that company.

Switzerland. His family owns a horse ranch in Switzerland and another one in
Texas. They all enjoy horse-riding, but his daughter Gina-Maria is in fact, an
equestrian European master. She competes in different shows and championships
around Europe and the U.S. and often takes the gold. He is an incredibly
generous and charitable man. One of his most notable contributions was a
whopping $10 million after the 2004 Indian Ocean earthquake. This natural
disaster claimed the life of his bodyguard so the cause was close to his heart.

Though ‘X’ was famous as a cricketer, represented his nation at
hockey and was chosen as part of the 1992 Olympic Games squad to
go to Barcelona; however, the squad did not qualify to go to the
tournament. He was also called up for trials to play in the 1996
Olympics but was ruled out by a hamstring injury. Along with fielding
records, he is probably the first cricketer to take paternity leave.

The legendary bowler ‘X’ was famous for his partnership with the
wicket-keeper ‘Y’. The scorecard entry “c ’Y’ b ‘X’ appears 95
times in Tests, an unbroken partnership record between wicket-
keeper and bowler. Coincidentally, both players ended their careers
with 355 Test dismissals. To honour their achievements, there is a
special grandstand at the WACA Ground as the ‘X-Y’ Stand.

‘X’ is the largest of its kind in South Asia. It is located in the village named
after it which is approximately 3 km from Janakpuri, to the west of New
Delhi. Its surrounding area is called Hari Nagar. Originally, it was run by
the State of Punjab. In 1961 a factory was established here. In 1966 the
control of it was transferred to the National Capital Territory of Delhi.
Over the years its activities have been expanded which includes carpentry,
weaving, tailoring, chemical, handmade paper, commercial art and
bakery. Later in 2009, a shoe manufacturing unit was established here
using the Public-Private Partnership model and thus, the brand-name of
its product was launched. It has its own radio station, run by its people.

Soon after he was born, ‘X’ was exchanged with a fisherman's child at
the maternity hospital. An alert uncle, Narayan Masurekar, who had
spotted a birthmark near the baby's left ear, raised a ruckus before
‘X’ (he hadn't been named yet) was restored to his mother. Later he
played a lead part in a Marathi film, Saavli Premachi (1974) and yes,
he even danced! He also made a special appearance as himself in the
Hindi film Malamaal. By the way, he is a legend in another field.

It is strange but true- ‘X’ indeed wanted to kill Yudhishthira. This was
when Karna was the commander of Kaurava’s army and defeated
Yudhishthira. The eldest Pandava was ashamed of this and he hoped
that ‘X’ would take his revenge. But he came to know that this did not
happen, so Yudhishthira started to say ill things to ‘X’ and asked him
to leave his weapons as they are of no use. ‘X’ was under an oath that
he would kill anyone asked to part with his weapons. As Yudhishthira
said to relinquish his weapons, ‘X’ was bound to kill him. Lord
Krishna intercepted to this problem and saved Yudhishthira.
