Editor's Notes
Testes held by scrotum, sperm produced in testes, goes through epididymus, transported through vas deferens, get nutrients and energy from seminal vesicles, to the prostate gland, to the urethra, then will exit the body through the penis.
Produced in Ovaries, then goes through the fallopian tubes to the uterus to be fertilized.
Uterus is where the fertilized egg will develop into a fetus and then during birth the baby will travel through the vagina.
Students will divide into their three preassigned groups and will perform a skit demonstrating the sexual reproductive pathways. They will begin with the exit of the sperm and end with the fertilization of the egg.
In this assignment, students will take what they have learned in class concerning sexual reproduction pathways and apply it to their morals and personal beliefs about where life begins. Using this information, the student will have to write a reflection about their stand on where life begins and how that can affect their use of certain contraception methods. The students will include, in addition to abstinence, what types of contraception that they feel are morally acceptable to help prevent pregnancy and STI’s for themselves and their partner.
