Leeds Graffiti (short documentary)
Main area of activity:
The project is a documentary therefore it is all film and a bit of photography it will also include an
interview.
Rationale:
This past year I have made massive progress in all aspects of media however there are only a few
sections that will help in this project. The main one being the music video we made earlier this
year, this will help loads as it is the basic filming and editing to music something I will use
throughout this project. I can use similar edits and shot types that I did in my music video but for
this project. I feel like these will compliment nicely and really help this project. But I will also have
to do experimenting for the interview and other shots to see what looks best as I have never filmed
a documentary or interview before.
Project Concept:
My plan for this project is to make a short documentary on a certain graffiti scene. I am not sure
what city I will target yet but I am pretty sure that Leeds would be a good one as it is quite well
known for its graffiti scene however this is something I will need to research about. I will also try
and include a interview with a writer in it as this would make a good watch and is what they do in
other graffiti documentary’s. This should be easy to do as I already know some writers and I’m
sure one of them would be down to film with me. I will also include short edits with music to keep
the watchers interested and also for the people that would just prefer to look at graffiti instead of
someone talking about graffiti.
How will the project be evaluated and reviewed:
I will evaluate and review my project by first of all saying how I feel about it and then getting peers
and people from my target audience to watch it and give me feedback on it. I will then go over this
feedback saying how I feel about it and what went well and also what could have been improved.

Week Tasks to be Completed: Specific Tasks
1 Initial Ideas and Proposal  I will look at what type of documentary I wanted
to film.
2 Research  I will researched about which city I am going too
film in.
3 Research  I will look at existing products to get a better look
and more inspiration for the documentary.
4 Pre-production & Planning  I will plan my shoots and what days they are and
will also sort out when I can film my interview.
5 Production  I will go for my first shoot then start the editing.
6 Production  I will hopefully film my interview and get more
clips to get a good structure for the final video.
7 Production  I will then add music and start some transitions
and nice looking edits.
8 Production  I will upload the rest of my clips and finish of the
edits. After this I will need to clean up all my edits
and get ready to upload the final video.
9 Evaluation  I will look at what I’ve done and get feedback
from my target audience and peers to see what
went well and also what I could improve on.
