Community is an association of residents of certain small area who unite their efforts to solve problems of this area.
These are usually residents of multi-apartment house or several houses, a street, etc. Unfortunately, Ukrainian legislation
stipulates only the notion of territorial community of village, urban settlement or municipality. To overcome this gap, the
Project in cooperation with Verkhovna Rada Committee on State Building and Local Self-Government developed and
introduced the notion “micro-community” into the draft Law “On Amending the Law of Ukraine “On Bodies of Self-
Organization of Population.”
