full price selling €250 (markup 2.5x
despite of price cost)
After six months Retailer expect to sell it
at discount price selling €125 (50%)
Retailer don’t sell the product even with an
additional markdown price. It become dead
stock.
The product value is around the cost price
€100. The more time passes, more the
price will go down.
The time to market of the product is over.
The product is obsolete.
No chance for Retailers.

• The wholesaler can make an offer of
10/15% of the cost price to buy the

9. Retail’s Dirty Little Reality
So after years watching the market from the top, working with these very established brands, I
decided to focus my gathered know-how on the weaker side of the industry.
The PROBLEM we wanted to solve came from my personal experience where I witnessed the
downfall of fashion-related family business; from moments of great fortune to declining
customers and sales to the piling up of overstock.
10. Retail’s Dirty Little Reality
The SOLUTIONwe came up with is Nustox, making it
a digital showcase for all fashion boutiques, giving
the opportunity directly to retailers to sell online
without worrying about digital expertise and online
positioning, but only about generating profits; all this
while preserving the important customer journey and
shopping experience.
Listening to our retailers we understood that the only
way to manage the overstock problem was by
considering the entire lifecycle of the product,
maintaining some level of markdown on the
inventory, predicting and preventing the deadstock
problem and still appealing the shopper and
generating profits.
13. Digital Disruption in the Reatail Industry
This can be done by collecting A LOT of data, and this is why we evolved Nustox into an all-

time, to the right people.
With BIG DATA and ANALYTICS tools we’re able to know our customers and share these
insights with our vendors and make customised offers.
This whole solution is extremely fluid for the vendor, and in a matter
of 2 or 3 days, they’re already online!
