DEFINATION OF TEACHING MEDIA
 Teaching media is something that we can use to share the message ,it can
stimulate attention ,interest ,student’s though and feeling in learning
activities to achieve learning goals.
DIFFERENCE BETWEEN TEACHING MEDIA AND
TEACHING AIDS
 Teaching media refers to the various forms of multimedia used to
present information ,it typically refers to different forms of media
such as visuals,audio and videos that are incorporated into teaching
methods to enhance understanding and engagement.Teaching
media can include powerpoint presentations .These media are
usually used to deliver content and concepts to students.
 Teaching aids refers to physical or tangible resources that reinforce
learning and engagement,are objects or materials that are
specifically designed to support instruction and learning ,the
include physical objects such as charts ,models ,maps flashcards.
TYPES OF MEDIA
 Visual media
 Print
 Audio visual media
 Static/display
 Electronic
EXAMPLE OF EACH TYPE OF MEDIA
 Visual:Charts,real object and photographs
 Print:Hangouts
 Audiovisual:Television,video games and slideshows
 Static/display:Chalkboard and flip
 Electronic:Radio computers and electronic mail
CLASSIFICATION OF EDUCATIONAL

 Print media:The include books,newspapers,workbooks and textbooks
 Non-print media:These include projected and non-projected media

 The internet as a resource (credibility of information)
 Social media whatsapp(example ;facebook)
 Googleas a resource (documents,books and drive)
ADVANTAGES OF USING MEDIA
 Facilitate the understanding of abstract concepts
 Focus attention or highlight key points
 Provide visual access to a process or technique
 Allow easy and repeated reproduction of an event or procedure
DISADVANTAGES OF USING MEDIA
 It can be expensive
 It can also be distracting for students
 Media can sometimes be unrealiable or outdated
 Media can be difficult to navigate for those who are not-savvy
,leading to frustration and disengagement
ADVANTAGES OF ENVIRONMENT AS A
TEACHING MEDIA
 It is cheap
 Brings reality
 It helps to relate what was said by the teacher
WHAT TO CONSIDER IN ORDER TO USE
ENVIRONMENT AS TEACHING MEDIA
 Plan first
 Check the environment whether it has resources
 check whether is safe
WHAT SHOULD LEARNERS DO ON THE
ENVIRONMENT
 Sensitive on handling resources
 Keep hands clean after learning
 Do what is directed by a teacher
