Restaurant Adventurer Club Chat
Lance: Hi! Welcome to the club. Can you tell me about your favourite food? What
does it taste like?
I love tamarind rice. It is cooked rice covered in a delicious concoction of sour tamarind
juice, fiery blended dried chillies and aromatic spices. The combination of tastes makes it a
mouth-watering dish.
Mey: What are your favourite restaurants to eat at in the area? What kinds of dishes
do they serve?
I like ‘Temple of Fine Arts’ because of the soothing music and the tasteful decor that adds to
its attraction. They serve an array of scrumptious vegetarian meals consisting of breads, rice
dishes, vegetables and drinks.
Calvin: What is the most interesting experience you have had at a restaurant?
I had Japanese food once, expecting it to be bland and raw but to my pleasant surprise, it was
better than what iI expected it to be. The seating arrangement was also unique and different
(Wwe sat on the floor at a small table) and iI enjoyed the experience.

Hi there,
Have you heard the latest news? Anthony Bourdain is not coming to our club after all! What
a let down after all the hype surrounding his visit. I’m downright disappointed. I really

like to do.
Write 120-150 words. You have 20 minutes.
Dear Sir/ or Madam,
I am writing to express my utmost disappointment regarding the cancellation of Anthony
Bourdain’s visit to our club. I was really looking forward to seeing the famous man in
person. I enjoy his laid-back attitude and his comments on the different places and food that
he gets to enjoy on his travels.
I wish the members had been informed earlier about this so that we could have been spared
the disappointment. I even bought one of his books to be signed by him.
It would be appreciated if the committee could invite Mr Bourdain to one of our club
meetings in the near future. Then, iI might get the opportunity to get my book signed.
4. Regarding the dinner, iI would like to make a reservation for two.
I look forward to a delightful dinner.
Thank you.
Yours sincerely,
Devanai Retenam
