Introduction
People are born with intrinsic motivation, self-esteem, dignity, curiosity to learn, joy in
learning. The forces for destruction begin wen u start rewarding them for being on the
top high ranked according to the standards set by the management or society.
“ Focusing on Performing for Someone else’s APPROVAL”
Types of Learning
• Generative Learning is about creating, expanding our capabilities. E.g Just in
Time Method introduced by Japanese to reduce time delays.
• Adaptive Learning is about coping, respond and adapt more effectively the
environmental change.
Creative Tension
It is seeing where we want to be “ Our Vision” and telling the truth about where
we are “ Current Reality”
How to Resolve it?
By raising current reality towards the vision or by lowering the vision towards current
reality.
Leader is Responsible for Learning- Learning
Organization
In Learning Organization, leaders are
• Designers : Design the ideas of purpose, vision and core values by which people
will live.
• Teachers: helping people in achieve more accurate, more insightful and more
empowering results of reality.
• and Stewards: Willing to serve others, the people and the purpose.
They are building organizations where people are continually expanding their
capabilities to shape their future.
The Leadership role Requires
New Skills
1. Shared Vision:
With more people sharing their vision, it becomes more real and people imagine
achieving it, it becomes their vision from Companies vision.
 Communicating and asking for support
 Visioning is an ongoing process
 Blending Extrinsic and Intrinsic Visions
 Distinguishing Positive and Negative Visions
2. To Challenge Existing Mental Models
The existing mental models conflict with the new insights and initiatives causing the
best ideas in the organizations to never put into practice. The role of Leadership is to
challenge the mental models without causing any defensiveness.
3. To Motivate More Creative Thinking.
 Seeing interrelationships, Not Things, Not Snapshots.
 Moving beyond Blame
 Focusing on Areas of High Leverage- where a change, with minimum effort brings
lasting results.
Conclusion
The weakened leader is he who the people despise,
The good leader is he who the people revere.
The great leader is he who the people say,
“ We did it Ourselves”.

  • 4. Creative Tension It is seeing where we want to be “ Our Vision” and telling the truth about where we are “ Current Reality” How to Resolve it? By raising current reality towards the vision or by lowering the vision towards current reality.
