The document discusses the author's experience completing a preliminary task and final products for a magazine design project. The preliminary task helped the author improve their skills in organization, time management, and understanding what was needed for the final products. Completing the preliminary task also helped the author gain a better understanding of magazine layouts and how to use Photoshop skills more effectively. Factors like addressing the target audience, choosing eye-catching colors, and conducting research were more challenging for the preliminary task but were improved upon for the final products. Overall, the project helped the author learn important skills for grabbing audiences' attention and pleasing readers.
Massive Improvement in Skills from Preliminary Task
1.
2. Looking at my preliminary task I can see a massive
improvement in terms of my skills towards my finial
products. Since completing the preliminary task It
portrayed how much effort and skill is needed for the finial
products. The skills that I have developed from the
preliminary task is organisation, this was due to having to
make sure that having all the correct data needed for
research was in the correct position. I learnt how much
time to dedicate for each section of the project and how to
handle them. I believe that through the use of the
preliminary task it gave a notion of how to achieve to my
full potential. The time I should dedicate to each area was
handy as it ensured that I did not waste a lot of time on a
certain are that was not needed. I think my standards of
work has become more higher as there is a lot more for
which I can do to improve that the substantial amount of
work is right for the task.

4. When starting the preliminary task I felt that
although a I had prior knowledge to Photoshop I
didn’t quite have the full potential or knowledge
to conduct a magazine task to the best of my
ability. As at first when creating the preliminary
task I was not able to use the more advanced
setting that I have gained knowledge about now.
I felt the following was were I had mostly
improved when coming to conduct my finial piece
products.
5. When beginning the preliminary task I felt I had
very little understanding of the concept of a
magazine layout. As you can see in my finished
preliminary task it was not quiet well formatted in a
magazine style. However it did give me a chance to
do further research into other magazine layouts and
I was competent in improving my skills on
Photoshop. So when the time came for my final
piece I felt that through a better understanding in
magazine layout as well as a better knowledge in
Photoshop I could provide a more authentic piece of
work which was more enhanced and improved.

7. When coming to build a relationship with the target audience
when developing the preliminary task, I found that it was an
extremely important area which needed to be carefully
constructed. The language was one of the most fundamental
implements of a magazine. Being a student myself I personally
thought that it was be simple to build this rapport with the
audience so they feel comfortable and attracted to the
magazine. Although when coming to the finial products I found
that this was more difficult in sustaining the mode of address
as it was to a wider range of audience. Observing well known
Pop magazines gave me a chance to appreciate how careful
and friendly they come across to maintain the readerships
attention. When looking back at my preliminary I did not think
that it appealed much to my audience than the music magazine
I have created therefore I feel that my finial production acceded
well in mode of address than the preliminary task.

9. Colour was one of the fundamental parts of a magazine that
is the key for success. Starting the task of choosing colours for
the preliminary was important, as I was not certain what
colours to use in magazines. Taking a presumption I opted for
bright colours yet keeping the classic black and white within
the magazine. Contemplating my preliminary task I felt that
the colours were not very catching and attention seeking.
When coming to choose the choice of colours for my finial
products I thought that taking inspiration from other Pop
magazines and how they use the colours to ensure that the
reader is attracted was a good idea. As I did not want to make
the same look for the finial products I had a scan to see were
the colours did not work so I would not make the same
misuse. The finial colours I opted for were classic Pop colours
such as Pink but using different shades to justify certain parts.

11. During this project I have learnt a lot of skills and
achieved an additional knowledge to how the mass
media grab the audience and keeps their attention on the
product at hand. As well as how much research is
conducted for a magazine to be suited to the target
audience age group. The project has shown me that
every detail created by a magazine has a purpose and the
way that it has been laid out for instance so it appeals to
the readership.
This project has shown that what great lengths
magazine’s go to, so they are capable to please the
audience. In terms of creativity I have learnt to think
outside the box. This has lead me to come up with a
appealing look for my magazine and to achieve a more
creative aspect on life. I believe that the task has
encouraged me to research and develop an
understanding of what I do and whom it may be on.
