1. Exchanging info at recruiting events should be easy so we are designing an app that
allows digital exchange between recruiters and recruitees.
2. Persona - John Doe
● Hard Facts: Career fair attendee, Seeking a full time job
● Interests and Values: Software Engineering, Being Organized
● Computer, Internet and TV Use: Uses technology on a daily basis, does not have
much time to watch TV, but uses devices for school-related work predominantly
● A Typical Day (at career fair): Talks to many companies, collects a lot of fliers that
he ends up never looking at or losing
● Future Goals: Software engineering job at Google, Apple, Amazon, etc...
3. Persona - Julie Smith
● Hard Facts: Career fair recruiter, Works for Amazon
● Interests and Values: Interested in interviewing the most qualified job applicants,
Ensuring students are aware of application process and supplemental recruiting events
● Computer, Internet and TV Use: Uses an app to save resumes to the cloud, but needs to
take picture in person to do so
● A Typical Day: Hands out paper copies of information about working at Amazon
● Future Goals: Having the least amount of work possible back at the office
4. Key Problems & Motivations
● John:
○ Key Problem
■ Cannot guarantee safety of resume in hard copy form
■ Have to manage paper copies from recruiters about company
○ Motivation
■ Does not want to lose company info handouts or miss events
● Julie
○ Key Problem
■ Difficult to keep track of resume hard copies in a pile
■ Difficult to print out and manage hard copies of handouts
○ Motivation
■ Wants to make her job easier
● ** Both John and Julie currently exchange info through traditional methods
5. Use Case
● John gets in range of the recruiters booth
● John receives a push notification from recruiter to
share his resume with them
● He can choose to accept or dismiss
● Now he does not have the paper damage problem
John’s view
7. Hypothesis that we are testing
● Hypothesis:
John Doe would have a better career fair experience if he did not have to
keep hard copies of his resume. Likewise, Julie Smith would enjoy
paperless distribution of Amazon’s information along with digital resume
collection.
● Hope to learn whether the proximity detection of iOS devices will speed
up the resume exchange process for John and Julie
● Hope to learn if John and Julie can easily organize their pdf documents
(resumes and handouts)
