Personal Profile
From a young ageI have been passionateabout sports and physical education, as the years went on it became clear tome that I
wanted a career in this industry. As I grew up I realised I could refine my studies to those topics I found most interesting,
studying both PE and Psychology at college my thirst to understand people and reasons individuals behave in particular ways
based in a physical context pushed me further into sport and society so I could investigatefor myselfand deepen my own
knowledge into these subject areas. In the case of sport and psychology what started as a small interest developed into
something much more, both education and my experiences created a very particular pathway in which I wanted tofocus my
interest and enthusiasm to excel which would lead me to a desired career within the sporting industry, the experiences gained
have alsoenabled meto branch into numerous areas within the sporting world including events and marketing thoroughly
enjoying both. This is why I decided tostudy Sports Psychology and Exercise Science at university, from here my passion has
grown and I have a need to achieve within my course and within the sport and exercise industry.

2. Employment History and Work Experience:
April2014 – August 2014: Ardmore Language Schools,Head of Sports and Activities
I concluded my placement as Head of Sports for Ardmore language school, here was my first role in a management position in
which I ceased the opportunity with both hands. It was my responsibility to provide a sound sports and social programmeon a
day to day basis for international students; althoughour numbers varied from week to week during our peak month I had to
devise a successful programmefor 600 students night and day. As part of my role I had to organise 18 coaches and activity staff
and book facilities which 5 other languageschools were all vying for, I achieved this with forward thinking and organising my
programmes 4 weeks in advance. To ensure the children were happy and enjoying their timein England It meant I had to
research new drills, games and activities toincorporate into the programmeand pass onto my staffin order to maketheir
coaching sessions the best they could be. I becameever more familiar with risk assessments and accident forms as it was my
responsibility to conduct these, as well as implementing successful first aid on a number of occasions. Although I enjoyed this
role I’m a sportsmanand a teacher of sports alike, by ensuring my office work was done quickly and efficiently it enabled me to
spend more timeteaching and coaching which is my biggest passion.Another part of my role here was to manageexcursion
bookings and day trips, on a Wednesday and Saturday I would havevarious numbers of coaches going toseveral locations, It
was imperativeI was organised with coach details, registers and itineraries tomake sure everybody knew where they were
going and when.
January2014 – April2014: Kings College Assistant PE Teacher
For 3 months of placement I worked as an assistant PE teacher within a secondary school, my main responsibility was to deliver
sound coaching sessions in a fun informativemanner not only this but to maintainthe welfare of the children and tosafeguard
them during my sessions. Here at Kings I gained an insight into the national curriculum and had towork within its structure to
ensure I was teaching thechildren the correct skills and knowledge, I developed my ability todistinguish the difference
between coaching and teaching and in doing so earned myselfa focus group of 6 students in which I tutored and gave
additional exam preparation to.
June 2013 – October 2013: Harrow House ResidentialSports Staff (Full Time)
Here at Harrow House I taught a variety of sports lessons tointernational students from 9-5, as residential staffwe lived on
residence and provided care for the students from 5-11. My main duty was tocreate an exciting range of drills and games that I
could deliver on a day to day basis, teaching foreign students proved difficult at times due to the languagebarrier however I
worked hard and fine-tuned my coaching techniques to resolve the issue.
January – March 2010: Guildford Netball Club (10 hours, communitysports leadership award)
I went toten 1 hour netball sessions, I took the warm up and fitness sessions with the women for a 10 week period, I really
enjoyed my timehere as I was made tofeel welcome and the women’s urge tolearn develop their fitness mademy role as a
coach much easier, once more here I learnt the differences needed in communication from age group to agegroup.
3. Interests and Activities:
Sports Activity:
I have played at a very high level of football representing my county team and trialling for extended periods of timewith both
Chelsea and Southamptonfootball club. As a captainat my school and Sunday team I confidently led my team to a variety of
titles and trophies, this was down to a number of things including the team cohesion we had and the great relationships within
our team. As captain it was important tounderstand every player on the team and understand how toget the best out of them,
my communicational skills developed as did my confidence and self-esteem.I have always been passionateabout sports and
enjoy participating in a range of sports including volleyball, snowboarding and windsurfing; I understand therules and
regulations of most mainstream sports and even more diverse ones such as hand ball. I currently play 5 asidefootball and gym 3
or 4 times a week, being in and around the gym has provided mewith safety knowledge regarding the equipment and practical
experience regarding specific exercises used within a gym.Whilst playing at Guildford City Football club I helped in the
organizing and running of several tournaments, these tournaments were held in the summer and all went very well. I have
taken part in several fun runs over my timeto raisemoney for charity however in April 2013 and 2014 I took part in the
Brighton Marathonraising a combined total of £927 for charity, this was easily the most challenging thing I’ve ever
participated in but with months of training and sheer determination I was able to achieve my goal. Following this I completed
the 21k Nuts challenge in which I raised another £212.
Travelling:
In the summer of 2011 I spent a month in South Africa, the majority of our timewas spent in Tanzania visiting many of the
gameparks and tribes throughout the area. I was lucky enough togo to the Serengeti on safari, here I had the chance to
observe many beautiful animals in their natural habitats.During the trip I spent as much time possible attempting to understand
the culture; I am fascinated with people and the various types of culture throughout the world, in Africa I had the chance to
learn about the Maasai visiting several villages, experiencing it first hand was incredible, I witnessed numerous ceremonies and
was given the opportunity to engagewithin a marriageceremony. The last part of my trip was spent in Zanzibar, during the
timeI was there it was Ramadanthe Islamic fasting month, I spent my week in Zanzibar fasting so I could fully embrace the
culture and religion whilst here. The whole journey was breathtaking withtravelling as a whole something I’d enjoy doing
more of in the future.
SocialNetworking:
Unlike most people I like to use my social networking accounts not only tosocialise but to research information and read
many of thedaily articles posted about topics that I like and are relevant to me such as sporting events and psychological studies.
I believe that social networking bridges a gap restricted the possible contact between a company and one’s self.
Music and Technology:
I find myself utilising technology every single day to suit my needs, as technology plays a vital role in the modern day world I
think it is important to have a familiarity with different technological aspects, such as the internet and various programmes.
Music is an excellent way to express yourself, I believe that the variation in genre allows people to reflect on a number of
situations that one may not be ableto do without music.
