Inability to experience
pleasure from positive
events
Associated with at least 4 of the following symptoms:
1- Insomnia or hypersomnia.
2- Significant increase or decrease in appetite associated
with weight gain or loss.
3- Fatigue and loss of energy.
4- Psychomotor agitation or retardation.
5- Inability to think, concentrate, or make decisions.
6- Feeling of worthlessness (low self-esteem) or guilt.
7- Recurrent thoughts of death and suicidal ideation,
plans, or attempts.
Symptoms must persist at least for 2
consecutive weeks, so that the
patient can be diagnosed as MDD
